I thought these were good for game-playing when I bought them, but these are training balls and not fit for game-playing.
I use butterfly, Double Happiness and Nittaku balls, so I know very well the characteristics of 3-star balls. These balls are slightly lighter and don't bounce as 3-star should. These balls perform more like 1 to 2 star balls
Good training balls would have the following characteristics:
1. Good durability (BTW, 3-Star Butterfly balls are disappointingly UN-durable)
2. Reasonable performance (bounce)
3. Reasonable Physical characteristics (right weight & absolutely no eccentricity)
As far as training balls, my assessment is that these balls are OK. The assessment is based on cost-performance criteria. Each training ball is about $0.29 when you include shipping and handling.
Additional notes:
1. Be very careful to specify ORANGE or WHITE balls in your selection when you order. Amazon's default selection is white. I thought I was getting orange balls from the picture on Amazon, but I got the white ones instead. Be sure to select the right color when you order.
2. Great post-purchase service from ATAFA (Find Import Corporation). Because I wanted competition balls, I returned the balls I bought on the basis that these are not what I wanted (144 of them). The service department was helpful and prompt. Although we couldn't do business this time, I feel the company/distributor the product is responsible, therefore commendable.

These are great quality ping pong balls. And they are a great value, especially when you need lots of balls for the robot server. You can never have too many ping pong balls. My kids prefer the orange color over the white.

These balls are much thinner and therefore lighter than some other ping-pong balls.
But that makes adding spin easier. It's also nice to have plenty (144) so you're not constantly picking them up.
We haven't noticed any irregularities -- they bounce fine and work well. They smell very strong of chemicals, so I leave the box outside and just bring in a few balls at a time after they air for a week or so.
